Chargetrip, the world’s leading Navigation Platform for EVs (Electric Vehicles), raises a late-seed investment round led by Norwegian impact investment firm Vindeggen. Additional funding is coming from Total Carbon Neutrality Ventures, APX (Axel Springer & Porsche), and impact investors from the Netherlands and Switzerland.

Late-Seed Investment Round

The new investment will be used to extend Chargetrip’s technical and commercial teams, which allows the company to accelerate its growth and meet the growing global demand for Chargetrip’s services.

“We are proud to onboard this experienced group of investors, each bringing a wealth of knowledge on key focus areas. The investment enables Chargetrip to rapidly scale and fulfill our ambition of accelerating mass EV adoption and advancing the global energy transition”, comments CEO and co-founder of Chargetrip Gideon van Dijk.

“The coming ten years, the mobility industry will change faster than it has done the past 100 years. We are convinced that the future of mobility will largely be electric, and predictive route planning will be a crucial piece of this new industry puzzle,” adds Christian Bryn, Managing Director of Vindeggen.

“To drive the adoption of EVs by commercial fleets and individual drivers, it is critical to address range anxiety. It’s not just about having enough charging stations, but also about finding them in an easy and timely manner. Thus, we are happy to bring our support to Chargetrip that’s offering an important and impressive step in that direction,” concludes Girish Nadkarni, Chief Executive Officer of Total Carbon Neutrality Ventures.

About Chargetrip

Chargetrip develops an API based SaaS platform for Electric Mobility. Their routing engine uses over fifteen different variables to calculate the real-time range of any electric vehicle. Temperature, weather, charge speed, elevation, rolling resistance, real-time vehicle data, and availability of charge stations are all taken into account. Chargetrip’s routing algorithms calculate the best route to a driver’s destination, with the optimal charge stations in between. Build-in predictive models optimize for total travel-time and travel-costs. This makes it easy for anyone, to take any EV beyond the range of the battery and switch to electric driving.

“Driving an electric car is awesome but should be anxiety-free. We give leading mobility companies the tools to make routing and charging EVs effortless for everybody. In the coming years our API will help to optimize the TCO (total cost of operation) of electrified fleets; owned, leased, rented, shared and autonomous” says Chargetrip’s co-founder Pieter Waller.

Chargetrip has successfully implemented API services and front-end applications for EV-member organizations (e.g., Norwegian EV Association), Automotive Manufacturers (e.g., Porsche), Charge Point Operators (e.g., Vector) and Mobility Service Providers. Currently, the equivalent of around 2% of all EV’s use Chargetrip’s software every month.
